"You heard comments maybe grievances from your seniors about Critical Literacy, but what is/are your expectation(s) or hope for this subject as you are just started"
“You better be
careful with this subject, Zafirah. It will killed you slowly”
“This subject is
just too terrible. And it is hard to get an A’s for this subject if you do not put your fullest effort”
“You will get a
lot of assignment soon and your live will get messy. Just wait ! ”
These sentences
were playing in my mind for the past few weeks until now. Every time when I
jumped out with my DEC’s seniors, majority of them will say the same things
about the Critical Literacy. It makes me feel frightened and scared
to learn this new subject. Even its initial named, “Critical” makes this
subject sound scarier. (First perspective will influence you, they said -.-‘)
I could remember reading a status posted on facebook by one of my seniors in my college stating "Critical literacy is killing me" and it was posted at 3AM. I was in mix emotions because in my head i had visualized myself suffering with distraught doing critical literacy's assignments and had to burn the midnight oil.
However, I do
have a lot of expectation beyond my fear. Everything won’t come to you, if you
not put any effort on it.Giving up on something before you giving it a try is not a choice. Hey, everybody should at least have faith of themselves, right? I believe that if I come out with good strategies and
plans, I will pass this subject with flying colours.
Lots of love,
Zaza
