"Stereotyping is exaggerated generalizations associated with a categorizing system, they go beyond the facts at hand and make claims that usually have no valid basis. However, it is also something that most people find difficult to avoid from doing. So, let's explore your sense of tendency to make generalizations by expanding the following statement: Women shouldn't be behind the wheel.."
Did you ever hear you mom or dad talking that “This
might be a female’s driver” when they are driving behind a slow car? Yes, this
stereotype in our society is not a new thing to hear about, yet women drives a
vehicle in the road always bring up a serious issue to the worldwide.
The
problem tends to become simpler if you ask for a men's point of view. They will
say that women’s driver are slow, hesitant, unpredictable, lack space orientation, don't park well and so
on. Even though me myself
a woman, I have to agree with all of the reason because sometimes while I'm
driving I can see that many women are not focusing very well or even not alert
to other road users.
However, women are less at fault in car
accidents than men and this is because it is generally believed that women tend
to drive more carefully and at lower speeds than the opposite sex. Women
are hesitant and unpredictable, that fit in this category are either beginners
in driving or if they don't know the route. No matter how difficult the
situation is, they should learn and master it because if men can, why can't
they?
What we should keep in mind before judging a
female driver is that no matter how hesitant, slow and unpredictable, one
should be aware that driving, first of all is about having a high
responsibility.
Lots of love,
Zaza
